With the recent renovation d’Angleterre is an example of the fine line between the stately and grandiose Victorian settings of the building with cool nuances of the Nordic style with clear and simple lines. The end result is an interaction between materials, surfaces, shapes and tones. A great many of the hotel’s beautiful, older interiors underwent a comprehensive restoration during the renovation in order to fit into the d’Angleterre’s rooms and halls. Plenty of hotels exist out in the world with five stars, but no hotels exist with quite the same spirit as d’Angleterre, and it is this, which guests should notice, see and sense, when they step inside.
