Press Release - d'Angleterre - Jakob de Neergaard

Jakob de Neergaard - new Executive Chef at Marchal

Jakob de Neergaard - new Executive Chef at Marchal

One of Denmark's greatest masters of French cuisine will lift Marchal to new heights with his enormous knowledge and experience in classic French Michelin gastronomy.

The chef level in Scandinavia is very high, especially when it comes to Nordic gastronomy, which for many years has repeatedly put Denmark on the world map.
d’Angleterre has wanted Marchal’s new Executive Chef to have deep roots in the French cuisine and at the same time have a basic understanding of and love for Nordic gastronomy, which is the primary reason why the choice has fallen on the experienced Jakob de Neergaard.

Jakob de Neergaard has worked for many years with French cuisine at Michelin level throughout Europe, including at the iconic hotel The Ritz in Paris, at the three-star Alain Ducasse and the three-star French restaurant Bruneau in Brussels with one of the world's most innovative chefs; Jean-Pierre Bruneau.

“Jakob de Neergaard has a special veneration and a huge talent for classic French cuisine. Marchal will stick to its Nordic roots, but we want to integrate and emphasize French cuisine. It is our belief that Jakob can lift that task to world-class level ", says Lucas Johansson, General Manager.

Jakob de Neergaard has also represented Denmark as a judge at the World Championships for chefs, taken the award as "Restaurant of the Year" and secured Søllerød Kro a Michelin star, where he was Executive Chef for nine years.

First of April, the next era for the Francophile star chef begins:

“In my gastronomic life journey, I have never been prouder and more honored than be given the opportunity to lead Marchal forward as Executive Chef. Marchal is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. It is my ambition to cultivate and explore the best of Nordic cuisine and the best of French in a beautiful gastronomic harmony,” says de Neergaard.

When Marchal reopens in the spring, the menu will be characterized by de Neergaard's gastronomic palatability.
