New Danish Art in the Royal Suite
Art has always played a significant role at d'Angleterre, with original works displayed throughout the corridors, suites, and halls. In the Royal Suite, you can experience two captivating pieces created specifically for the space, in close collaboration with our creative director and chairman of the board. The artworks are by two internationally recognized Danish artists, Line Busch and Ruth Campau, who have each crafted a piece for the living room and the bedroom, respectively.
Magical Dream Catcher in the Bedroom
In the Royal Suite’s bedroom, artist Ruth Campau has created ‘Dream Catcher’, a piece whose title reflects the essence of the space.
Kongens Nytorv, the historic hotel, the suite, and the bedroom are spaces where one can capture and pursue dreams.
Ruth Campau has painted on thin polyester film (mylar), which has then been folded into three large bubbles that hang over one another, turning the piece into a three-dimensional object. Light flows through the transparent layers, and the interplay of light and shadow becomes part of the artwork.
“When I first saw the Royal Suite, I thought the piece should be orange, but after several color tests, the orange developed into a more indefinable reddish hue that softly attaches itself to the wall like a glowing blush.”
Ruth Campau (born 1955) is known for working in the intersection of painting, sculpture, and installation. Her works explore the dynamics of space and its interaction with the artwork.
