Gourmet dining is an integral part of the d’Angleterre experience – and has been since French servant Jean Marchal married Maria Coppey, the Royal Chef’s daughter, and formed an alliance build on the common love for cooking and creating memorable guest experiences.
Today, the hotel offers everything a gourmand’s heart might desire – from formal Michelin creations to artisan coffee, Champagne cocktails and French pastries.
Opened in 2013, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant Marchal has carried on the legacy of d’Angleterre’s fine dining experiences. Marchal won its first Michelin star in 2014 and has retained the star ever since. The kitchen is run by Danish Executive Chef Jakob de Neergaard, one of Denmark's greatest masters of French cuisine, with enormous knowledge and experience in classic French Michelin gastronomy.
The d'Angleterre experience continues in Balthazar, our very own Champagne Bar, serving more than 160 different Champagne varieties, Champagne cocktails and classic cocktails. The bar is located on the corner of d’Angleterre and faces the streets of inner Copenhagen, which gives the place a special vibe, and is why it has retained its tremendous popularity amongst the locals. With a lavish bar menu, you can start the evening with a luxurious pre-dinner snack or stop by after dinner as the cherry on top of the evening.
d'Angleterre’s focus on gastronomy and great taste spills out onto the terrace, where guests can enjoy the buzzing vibe at Kongens Nytorv, the city’s most iconic square. In the summertime the rosé is served ice-cold and, in the winter, our famous “gløgg” keeps Christmas shoppers warm to the core.
Kindly note that our dress code is smart casual in both restaurant and bars.
