Families at d’Angleterre

Family

At d’Angleterre the little ones really do matter to us. This Christmas from 19th December until January 3rd 2021 we have our Kid’s Room available in Salon 1, where your little ones can run around and play during the day and  in the evenings there will be regular Movie Nights, including many of the children’s classics (this service is also available in the summer holidays, dates for 2021 are yet to be confirmed). Whilst your children play, we can organise babysitters for a time that entirely suits you, whether you wish to have a romantic dinner in Marchal or indulge with a spa treatment in AMAZING SPACE. We will take care of your little ones whilst you relax and unwind. Total piece of mind is guaranteed.

You can book our pool (the only one in central Copenhagen) for you to enjoy some quality fun time with your children and splash away to your hearts content. Inflatables and rubber ducks are very much encouraged! Please just book your time with our front office before or during your stay.

Children of all ages are encouraged to explore the hotel and spend time with our concierge to see how this fascinating department works. We won’t even frown upon you taking your little ones out onto in their favourite toy car and explore one of the hotel’s corridors and explore the hotel (and you don’t even have to have a valid driving licence!).

Copenhagen is one of the most family-friendly cities in Europe and we are here to help create your perfect summer family holiday. Roam and explore our great city to your hearts content. Do take a moment to look at our City Secrets section for more family-friendly ideas and inspiration on family outings.

Outside of the hotel we can organise the following activities: pony and horse riding, tennis, golf and golf lessons, sailing, fishing, cycling and even cookery classes.

Games to entertain.

We have available the following games to keep the little ones entertained:
  • Chess
  • Memory match/match (for our youngest guests – animal prints 1-6 years old)
  • Baby puzzle (1-4 years old)
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Charades
  • Four in a row

Discovering Copenhagen

If you would like to discover some of Copenhagen’s great outdoor spaces, then we recommend the following places and our concierge can guide you as to the best way to get there:

  • The playground at Ørstedsparken
  • The playground at Sønderboulevard
  • The playground at DAC, Danish Architectural Center
  • Trafiklegepladsen at Nørrebro
For those long sunny summer days ahead and to keep the little ones happy then for the best ice cream we recommend the following shops:
  • Kødbyens Is
  • Moo Moo is
  • Ismageriet
If you would like to take a little bit of Danish children’s design back home with you then for Children’s clothes, we would recommend Kalles Børnetøj and Illums Bolighus children’s department which has many Danish and Scandinavian design brands.

For those children with an inquisitive mine we recommend the following interactive learning museums and venues´. They should keep children of all ages busy:
  • The Blue Planet
  • Experimentarium
  • The Children’s museum
  • The War Museum
  • Danish Architectural Center
  • The Resistance Museum
  • Konditaget Lüders at Nordhavn
Do not forget that you can also find The Six Forgotten Giants in and around greater Copenhagen; scattered around lush forests, meadows and by calm waters in suburbia Copenhagen, you'll meet the tall, quirky-looking wooden sculptures which are pretty far from your typical tourist attraction!

Then for the slightly older kids there’s Copenhagen Cable Park where you can learn to wake board and even do jumps (all whilst attached to a series of cables) and Copenhill, the artificial ski slope and recreational hiking area which has been built on top of the new waste management centre called ARC. It is pretty much a sci-fi fantasy! There is also the world’s highest climbing wall at 85 metres high for those with no fear of heights.

Then there is Airtrix Trampoline Park, which amongst the best and biggest trampoline in Europe. Here, you can choose between thousands of square metres of trampolines. There is the freestyle zone with lots of adjacent vertical and horizontal trampolines, the activity foam pit, the interactive walls and the many other activities. Right next door to Airtrix you can discover the colourful climbing park Clip´n´Climb, which is the first of its kind in Denmark.
